About the movie:
The parable film, which is based on a story not about the specific fate of a person, but about a "small" place on earth, where the imagination of its inhabitants attempted to create a new community of people.
The screen unfolds the history of the hippie commune, where homeless, poor, crippled people came from all over Moscow, and where they found a home, warmth and sexual intimacy. People in the commune fall in love with each other, but thereby make themselves even more miserable. Sex with destitute, crippled, free giving of their body to them in the name of help and maybe even general salvation is humane and, at the same time, crazy pathos of the creator of this strange commune.
He sacrifices himself to create the Temple of Love on this site, but his sacrifice is meaningless. The commune collapses from within, leaving people once united in it as destitute and lonely.

Place on Earth is a film about the Hipp community, whose leader is obsessed with giving love-sex to the poor, crippled, and outcasts. Resentment over this film reached its climax at the festival in Vyborg, where the jury defiantly left the competition. The "classics" on the jury blamed Arthur for the fact that his picture was "physiologically unbearable." And the discomfort experienced by the "elitist" viewer, forced to convulsively think: what does he think and how to relate to what is happening on the screen, is unbearable in this film? The more highly intelligent cliches and spiritual exaltation are stored in the inner snobbish bag called artistic perception, the more confused he becomes when he looks at what Aristakisyan shows on the screen, From Cinema Vanguard to Video Art.
