Florida Power & Light still has their work cut out for them but they have some good news to report. The damage Hurricane Irma did to the state_s electrical infrastructure was less than expected As a result almost all East Coast customers are expected to have their power back by Sunday and those on the west should have theirs five days later Of course some areas hit particularly hard will take longer but for the MILLIONS without power it_s welcome news indeed Recovery is going to take a lot longer in the Florida Keys. According to FEMA a full 25 PERCENT of homes were destroyed by Hurricane Irma and 90 PERCENT experienced some kind of damage Of course some on the ground have refuted these FEMA estimates pointing out no official assessment had been made.  And Pizza Hut is under fire for seemingly trying to discourage employees of a Jacksonville Florida location from evacuating ahead of hurricane Irma. The announcement to employees has gone viral. Among the bullet points on the memo one reads in part You cannot evacuate Friday for a Tuesday storm event and says people who missed shifts would get written up Pizza Hut subsequently issued a statement saying the manager wasn_t following company guidelines but only after many online had told them where they could stuff their crusts Don_t go away.
